This agreement
This End User License Agreement is between you and Stain Web Development LLC, trading as Vitric Audio ("Vitric", "we", "us"). It covers every Vitric plugin and standalone app, its installers and updates, and the presets and other content built into it. You accept it when you install, activate or use a Vitric plugin, or when you buy, claim or redeem a license. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software; a purchase can be refunded under the refund policy.
Licensed, not sold
When you buy a Vitric plugin you buy a license to use it, not the software itself. Vitric keeps ownership of the code. A purchased or redeemed license is perpetual: it does not expire, and it covers all the plugin formats we ship for that product on both Windows and macOS. A Vitric Complete subscription license lasts while the subscription is active, and a trial license lasts 3 days, as described below.
One person, three computers at a time
A license is personal to you, the person named on it. It can be active on up to 3 of your computers at a time, any mix: studio desktop, laptop, home rig. When you replace or retire a computer, contact support and we move the license to the new one at no charge. A previously bound machine can be reactivated without using another slot. A license is not a site license; if two engineers use the plugin, that is two licenses.
Activation and deactivation
- Activating binds the license to a machine using the machine code shown in the plugin's license panel.
- Deactivation is self service in the license portal. It marks that machine inactive, but on its own it does not open a slot for a new machine, because it cannot erase a permanent license file already installed on an offline computer. The same machine may be reactivated later. To move a license to a new or replacement computer of yours, contact support; moves are free.
- Purchased perpetual licenses support offline machines. On a connected device, enter your license key and the offline machine's code in the portal, download the license file, and load it in the plugin. Audio computers that never touch the internet are a normal case, not an exception.
Trials
Every plugin offers a free 3 day trial: full function, no feature limits, bound to the machine you request it for. Trials require an internet connection for periodic verification. If verification is unavailable, trial processing locks until access is verified again. Purchased perpetual licenses continue to work offline. One trial per product per person and per machine. When the trial expires, processing locks until a purchased license or valid subscription is installed. Old sessions still open, and saved settings remain intact for the next valid activation.
Vitric Complete subscriptions
A Vitric Complete subscription licenses every released Vitric plugin for as long as the subscription is active, on the same one person, three computers terms. Subscription licenses renew themselves online: each computer running a subscribed plugin checks in on its own and must connect at least once every 30 days. When a subscription ends, including a cancellation reaching the end of its paid period, a refund or a chargeback, the subscription license stops on each computer at its next check-in and processing locks until you subscribe again or buy a license. Billing, renewal and cancellation are covered in the terms of service.
Free, partner and marketplace licenses
A license you claim for free, receive in a giveaway or bundle, or redeem with a code from a partner store such as the KVR Marketplace is a license under this agreement, with the same rights and limits as a purchased one unless the offer said otherwise. Not for resale (NFR) and complimentary licenses given to press, reviewers and partners are personal and may not be sold or transferred. An edition sold or delivered by a marketplace such as Muse Hub may come with that marketplace's own license terms; where it does, those terms govern that edition.
What you make is yours
Audio you record, mix, master or render with Vitric plugins belongs to you, including sounds made from factory presets. Use it and sell it anywhere, with no royalty or credit owed to us. What you may not do is redistribute the content built into the plugins, such as factory presets, samples, impulse responses or wavetables, on its own, as a preset or sample library, or inside another product.
What you may not do
- Share, publish, or sell your license key.
- Resell or transfer the license yourself. If you want to pass a license to someone else, email support@vitricaudio.com and we will transfer it properly so the new owner gets support and reissues.
- Rent, lease or lend the software, or offer it as a hosted service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the plugins, or circumvent the license system, except where the law where you live allows it regardless of this agreement.
We may revoke a license that violates these terms. Licenses on refunded or charged-back purchases are revoked automatically, as described in the refund policy. Revocation prevents future activation and replacement-file issuance. Because permanent license files validate offline, it cannot remotely disable a file already installed; after revocation, continued use is not licensed. Vitric Complete subscription license files are time-limited instead: they renew online at least once every 30 days, and a revoked, lapsed or moved subscription license stops at its next check-in.
Updates
Updates to a licensed plugin are free. If we ever ship a paid major upgrade it will be a new product with its own license, and your existing license keeps working. Plugins may contact our update service to tell you when a new version is available.
Open source components
Vitric plugins include open source software, each component used under its own license. Those licenses and their notices are listed on the open source notices page and shipped in the installers. Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licenses.
Warranty and liability
The plugins are provided as is. The 3 day trial exists precisely so you can verify a plugin in your own sessions, on your own hardware, before buying, and the 14 day guarantee backs the purchase after that. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, such as lost sessions, data or profits, and our total liability is limited to the price you paid for the plugin. Nothing here limits rights that your local consumer law does not allow to be limited.
When this agreement ends
A license ends automatically if you break these terms, and a subscription or trial license ends as described above. When a license ends, stop using the plugins it covered and remove them. The sections on ownership, what you make, warranty and liability continue to apply.
Changes
We may update this agreement as the plugins and the store evolve; the date at the top shows the latest revision. An update never takes away rights you already hold under a license you have.
