Licensed, not sold
When you buy a Vitric plugin you buy a license to use it, not the software itself. Vitric keeps ownership of the code. The license does not expire, and it covers all the plugin formats we ship for that product on both Windows and macOS.
One person, three machines
A license is personal to you, the person named on it. You can activate it on up to 3 machines at a time, and they can be any mix of yours: studio desktop, laptop, home rig. A license is not a site license; if two engineers use the plugin, that is two licenses.
Activation and deactivation
- Activating binds the license to a machine using the machine code shown in the plugin's license panel.
- Deactivation is self service: free a machine in the license portal at any time, no support ticket needed, then activate the new one.
- Offline machines are supported. On a connected device, enter your license key and the offline machine's code in the portal, download the license file, and load it in the plugin. Audio computers that never touch the internet are a normal case, not an exception.
Trials
Every plugin offers a free 14 day trial: full function, no feature limits, bound to the machine you request it for. One trial per product per person and per machine. When the trial expires the plugin drops to demo mode rather than shutting off: processing keeps working, with a short output mute every minute, so an old session still opens and you can hear what the plugin was doing.
What you may not do
- Share, publish, or sell your license key.
- Resell or transfer the license yourself. If you want to pass a license to someone else, email support@vitricaudio.com and we will transfer it properly so the new owner gets support and reissues.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the plugins, or circumvent the license system.
We may revoke a license that violates these terms. Licenses on refunded purchases are revoked automatically, as described in the refund policy.
Updates
Updates to a licensed plugin are free. If we ever ship a paid major upgrade it will be a new product with its own license, and your existing license keeps working.
Warranty
The plugins are provided as is. The 14 day trial exists precisely so you can verify a plugin in your own sessions, on your own hardware, before buying, and the 30 day guarantee backs the purchase after that. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the plugin.
