Licensed, not sold
When you buy a Vitric plugin you buy a license to use it, not the software itself. Vitric keeps ownership of the code. The license does not expire, and it covers all the plugin formats we ship for that product on both Windows and macOS.
One person, three lifetime machine bindings
A license is personal to you, the person named on it. It can be bound to up to 3 machines over its lifetime, and they can be any mix of yours: studio desktop, laptop, home rig. A previously bound machine can be reactivated without using another binding. A license is not a site license; if two engineers use the plugin, that is two licenses.
Activation and deactivation
- Activating binds the license to a machine using the machine code shown in the plugin's license panel.
- Deactivation is self service in the license portal. It marks that binding inactive, but it does not free a lifetime binding for a fourth machine and cannot erase a permanent license file already installed on an offline computer. The same machine may be reactivated later. If failed or replaced hardware uses all three bindings, contact support for review.
- Purchased perpetual licenses support offline machines. On a connected device, enter your license key and the offline machine's code in the portal, download the license file, and load it in the plugin. Audio computers that never touch the internet are a normal case, not an exception.
Trials
Every plugin offers a free 3 day trial: full function, no feature limits, bound to the machine you request it for. Trials require an internet connection for periodic verification. If verification is unavailable, trial processing locks until access is verified again. Purchased perpetual licenses continue to work offline. One trial per product per person and per machine. When the trial expires, processing locks until a purchased license or valid subscription is installed. Old sessions still open, and saved settings remain intact for the next valid activation.
What you may not do
- Share, publish, or sell your license key.
- Resell or transfer the license yourself. If you want to pass a license to someone else, email support@vitricaudio.com and we will transfer it properly so the new owner gets support and reissues.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the plugins, or circumvent the license system.
We may revoke a license that violates these terms. Licenses on refunded purchases are revoked automatically, as described in the refund policy. Revocation prevents future activation and replacement-file issuance. Because permanent license files validate offline, it cannot remotely disable a file already installed; after revocation, continued use is not licensed.
Updates
Updates to a licensed plugin are free. If we ever ship a paid major upgrade it will be a new product with its own license, and your existing license keeps working.
Warranty
The plugins are provided as is. The 3 day trial exists precisely so you can verify a plugin in your own sessions, on your own hardware, before buying, and the 14 day guarantee backs the purchase after that. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the plugin.
